Warm Winter Home Décor & Lighting Trends 2022

As colder days and nights are coming thick and fast, we are heading toward the winter season. What’s better than snuggling up at home with cosy jumpers, fluffy slippers, and a warm drink? Doing all of them in your own warm and inviting winter paradise. Your home should be your sanctuary and there is nothing better than spending the colder evenings, snuggled in your safe place. What makes it even better, is bringing some of that winter feeling into your home allowing you to enjoy the feelings of nature without the bitter breeze, blustering winds, or downpours that are all too common for us brits throughout this season. While allowing you to be cosy and comfortable within your walls.

Bringing that warm winter feeling into your home is easily done and doesn’t take much to really incorporate it into your living space, a simple paint upgrade, new accessories, some organic materials, statement and accent lighting, and making the most out of fireplace are all great ways to bring the winter alive inside your home. However, this is not set in stone. With this décor trend, the options are endless, there really is no right or wrong way to do it, and you can do whatever feels right for you!

Below we have outlined our top tips for adding a winter design to your home:

1) Creating a cosy ambience is vital – When we think about winter, we think of comfy clothes and cosy atmospheres. We think of multi-layers and adding accessories to keep us warm, right?!? And that’s the same for your home. Think stripping back and layering tone-on-tone textures rather than colours and patterns. Think accent lighting like floor lamps or table lamps to set the tone for the room and give you that cosy atmosphere. This will create that cosy, live-in look that we all crave over this season. @no.eightourhome shows us how this is done perfectly on her Instagram home account. Head over to their page and give them a follow to see more of their styling tips.

2) Another great way to bring a winter décor theme to your home is by incorporating natural elements. Winter is all about nature and bringing some of that nature to your indoors adds texture while giving your home a real winter aesthetic. Bringing nature indoors can be done in a range of ways, whether that’s decorating with wood or branches, using wooden furniture or wooden lighting throughout your home, or even using log burners is another great way to bring nature to your indoor spaces. @number_twentyseven have used subtle pieces to bring that feeling of nature into their living space by using wooden beams, rattan lamps, plants and natural patterns to bring that feeling alive. 3) Using earth tones throughout your home is another great way to bring that winter feel into your home, not to mention earth tones are here to stay and look amazing all year round. While keeping your living spaces warm and inviting. Think browns, greens and blues and maroons, all these colours work perfectly to give your home a warm winter feel. While adding textured walls can really bring a sense of environment into your home too. @edwardian_london_terrace is the perfect home account to follow for inspiration in bringing this alive in your home. They have incorporated this styling into their bedroom perfectly. They even added sparkling, luxury lighting to finish the look off.

4) Now for me, nothing says warm winter more than a fireplace or wood burner. There really is nothing that says cosy like curling up with a blanket near a burning fire on a miserable day. When thinking about creating a warm winter aesthetic in your home, planning to use your already built-in fireplace as the centrepiece of the room is key. If you don’t have a fireplace or burner already in your home. You can pick up electric fireplaces that look just like a real fire, in turn giving you the same aesthetic without the need to invest in major house renovations. I mean not only are fires ideal for bringing winter vibes to your home, but they are practical too. Ensuring to keep you and your family warm at any given time. @no20house is another great home account to follow for more home inspiration. As you can see, they know a thing or two about interior styling from their living room pic.
